Pigeon Post (Nikon D90)

... fearlessly flying

Let's face it: people take pictures of pigeons every day. And some even think they're good.

But they're not.

They're pictures of pigeons.

Pictures of pigeons are very rarely good.

Here are some pictures of pigeons. They are not good!

But the last one is an attempt to make an ultimately doomed and dowdy subject just a tiny bit more interesting.

I scared the pigeons. Yep, I was that big scary pigeon guy, can you imagine it? Except that they don't scare easy. Not easy at all at all, darn it.

Anyway, to cut a long, and ultimately embarrassing arm-waving story short, they flew off and I snapped.

Far from perfect, but what ever is? Then I cropped and chopped and played and waylayed and here's the final result.

A pigeon picture. Never destined for greatness but possibly vaguely educational, and certainly more interesting than our perfectly camouflaged (mid-grey and light-grey - check out the zebra crossing) feathered friends at the watering hole. Who'd ever take a picture of that, eh? I ask you...

And why not...
